Acknowledgements and Attributions
SIMES takes special care to properly acknowledge and express appreciation to our research sponsors. SIMES’ work supported by DOE should be clearly delineated from that supported by other agencies. In future publications, if the work is supported by SIMES, include the following affiliation in the address line, and the following statement in the acknowledgement section:
This affiliation should be made apart from, and in addition to, the authors’ other affiliations:
“Stanford Institute for Materials and Energy Sciences, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025.”
Always use the Sand Hill Road address for SLAC, not Stanford address.
“This work is supported by the Department of Energy, Office of Science, Basic Energy Sciences, Materials Sciences and Engineering Division, under Contract DE-AC02-76SF00515.”
Please refer to the document “Acknowledgments Reference Document” for the correct DOE wording. This is particularly important if:
- there are other sponsors to be acknowledged, such as NSF or industry
- multiple funding sources for the work are distinguished by the scope of each, or by specific aspects of the research
- multiple funding sources are distinguished by institution, or by individual
Publication Charges / Page Charges / SciDoc Registration
If you want to have your publication charges (also known as page charges) paid by SLAC, you must register your paper in SciDoc.
SciDoc is SLAC’s scientific publication repository. It accepts only a pre-publication version such as the accepted manuscript, not the published version.
Click here for information about registering your paper in SciDoc and getting page charges paid. If you cannot log in to SciDoc, please contact SIMES Procurement Administration who will give you this information and the relevant contacts at SLAC.
Once registered in SciDoc, submit the SciDoc reference number, with your request for publication charges to be paid, to SIMES Procurement Administration,
